Growing up, Jessica was always an animal lover and knew that she wanted to work in an animal-related field. Jessica graduated from the Animal Health Technology program at Red River College in May 2013 and began working at Southglen the following December!

One of her special interests is nutrition – you may have met her over the years if your animal has ever needed nutritional guidance! She has dedicated many hours over the years towards continuing education and learning about the different diets there is to offer and how to use them effectively! Her favorite type of diet consultation is helping with weight loss! The transformations are always amazing!

Another interest of Jessica’s is feline medicine! She has always had a strong love for cats and believes that they are misunderstood – this is why she achieved her Feline Friendly certification. Jessica knows that coming to the clinic is a scary place, so she always does her very best to keep them as calm and relaxed as she can!

“You could say that I am a crazy cat lady myself – I care for a total of 12 cats (Lucifer, Bane, Hexxus, Bastet, Littlefoot, Darnell, Duck, Bagel, Pizza, Pepperoni, Ham & Fromage)! A mix of indoor and barn cats keep me on my toes at all times! Cats are not my only interest though; in my spare time I like to muddle around in my garden, spend time at my cabin and watch horror movies!“

A fun fact about Jessica is that she loves pizza... so much that one of her cats is named Pizza and her 3 kittens are named after pizza toppings!
