Veterinarian & Practice Owner

Dr. M. Sra

Dr. Sra graduated in 1996 from the College of Veterinary Medicine in PAU India. He immigrated to Canada in 1997 and completed the required examinations in 1999. Dr. Sra has a wealth of experience, in general practice and emergency medicine. In 2008 he opened Southglen Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Sra is an accomplished surgeon with a special interest in both soft tissue and orthopedic surgery. He preforms orthopedic surgeries, simple and complex fracture repairs, and preforms both cardiac and abdominal ultrasound. Dr. Sra is passionate about continuing education, each year he completes 50-70 hours of educational work. Dr. Sra is committed to the welfare of all pets. He has been active in the sterilization campaigns in Manitoba and has volunteered his time to perform surgery in remote northern locations. Dr. Sra ensures that Southglen is actively involved in the support of rescue organizations by their partnership in rescue pet veterinary care. Dr. Sra was previously President of the Manitoba Veterinary Medical Association and continues to contribute to the Association in other capacities. In his spare time Dr. Sra enjoys golfing, and spending time with his family. His two dogs, Zoe a Sealyham terrier and Zara a rescue from Manitoba Mutts, keep his entire family in check!


Dr. O. Blankvoort

Dr. Blankvoort has been a part of the Southglen team since September of 2014. She previously graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and from the University of Saskatchewan with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Blankvoort has two cats, Doctor Science who was rescued after a blizzard at her parents farm and Louie who was adopted from D’Arcy’s ARC. She enjoys live music, golfing, curling, travelling and holds both a Canadian and a Dutch passport – just like James Bond!

Dr. A. Litchfield

Dr. Litchfield has been working as a small animal veterinarian in Winnipeg for the last 6 years and started at Southglen in January 2015. Before graduating from the University of Saskatchewan with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine she completed a Bachelor of Science focused on microbiology and chemistry. She has a keen interest in anaesthesia, ultrasound and pain management. Dr.Litchfield enjoys building relationships with clients and working as a team to help families make the most appropriate medical decisions for them and their pets. She has a trio of rescue pets, including Lemon a hyper Labrador cross that keeps her on her toes, Spunky an old foster fail with cerebellar hypoplasia and Carrot, a cat from Manitoba Underdogs Rescue.She also has two ducks! In her spare time, Dr.Litchfield likes to paint, go camping, cross country ski, and spend as much time as possible socializing with friends and family whether out for dinner or at the family cottage.

Dr. T. Guinn

Dr. Guinn started at Southglen in the summer of 2014 as a student while completing her degree at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon. She joined the team as a Veterinarian in 2015. Dr.Guinn is very thorough in her cases and makes sure client’s go home with a full understanding. She has two cats, Amy, a grey Tabby who was a foster fail and Rose, an orange Tabby who was rescued from the Saskatoon SPCA. In her spare time she enjoys playing squash, cycling, yoga, going to the lake and hanging out with friends. Before completing her DVM, Dr. Guinn did 3 years of undergrad focusing on biochemistry and microbiology. She also has an identical twin!

Dr. M. Wawryk

Dr. Wawryk started with the Winnipeg Veterinary Care group in June 2019 after practicing in Alberta for a year. She graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. She also has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta and a Bachelor of Animal Science from the University of Saskatchewan. She takes a special interest in nutrition and food supplements since graduation. Outside of work, Dr. Wawryk spends most of her time taking care of her own zoo that consists of 3 dogs (Manzi, Finnigan and Teyha) and her 3 cats (Lizzy, Cracker Jack and Dilly). She also loves exploring the walking trails and parks around Winnipeg and curling up with a good book in the winter months.

Group Administrator WVCG


Andrea joined the Southglen team in November 2014 as the Hospital Administrator. Andrea has had the privilege of working in veterinary medicine for over twenty years. While attending the University of Winnipeg, she became engaged in veterinary medicine and launched her management career. Andrea oversees the management for the Winnipeg Veterinary Care Group hospitals, as Group Administrator. Andrea is passionate about management. She takes pride in supporting her team members to be their professional best to deliver exceptional patient care. Andrea is the proud mother of three two legged children and one four legged child Tenor, a Bernese Mountain dog. Tenor spends most of his time closely supervising the children he considers his own. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time being active outdoors with her husband, children and Tenor.

WVCG Office Manager


Corrie has been in the veterinary profession since graduating from the Robertson College program in 2000 and joined the Southglen team in January 2015. Corrie is the office manager for the Winnipeg Veterinary Care Group, and ensures all of our client’s needs are met. Corrie is always smiling and is a go to for knowledge! At home she has two dogs, a Shih Tzu named Clay, a Rottweiler named Piper; and three cats, RJ, Cheeko, and Apaulo. During the summer Corrie loves to go camping with her family and has been a Blue Bomber season ticket holder for the past fourteen years!

Register Veterinary Technologists (RVTs)


Jessica graduated from the Animal Health Technology program at Red River College in 2013 and began working at Southglen the following December. Jessica loves cats and has nine of her own; three indoor and six barn cats. Littlefoot, Bastet and Lucifer live inside. Jessica loves to bake, watch horror moves and spend time at her cabin in Falcon Lake. At Southglen Jessica is has a caring touch and always put’s the pets comfort first. She is our nutrition counsellor and does an amazing job ensuring all of our patients are on the correct diet, whether it be maintenance diet or a weight loss journey.

Breanne W.

Lianne started at Southglen in June of 2016. She graduated in the Spring from the Animal Health Technology program at Red River College. She has two cats, Flaca who is a diabetic Tortieshell, and Sia, a one-year-old Siamese. She plays soccer on multiple teams, and plays three instruments, the violin, piano, and guitar. Lianne grew up with all sorts of pets, such as turtles, snakes, hamsters, dogs, cats, and her family now has a small chicken farm.


Breanne has been working as an RVT at Southglen since March 2017. She graduated from the Animal Health Technology program at Red River College in 2014. On her spare time she enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking and travelling. She has two pets at home- Autumn, an energetic Golden Retriever, and Amira, a relaxed DSH that keeps Autumn in her place.


Teri has been part of the Southglen team for a year and a half as one of our Registered Veterinary Technologists. She graduated from Red River College in 2004, and has been extremely busy ever since. She not only works here but also has another position in the animal health field. She keeps the team running smoothly and promptly, and is always willing to lend a helping hand. At home Teri has a 16-year-old domestic short hair named Thunder. She loves spending time with friends, camping and canoeing.


Ashlee joined the Southglen team as a veterinary assistant in 2013 and began working as a Registered Veterinary Technologist in 2014 after graduating from the Animal Health Technology Program at Red River. Ashlee has an adorable little chinchilla named Rico at home. When she isn’t working she likes to spend time with friends and family, go to the cabin and snuggle with Rico! She also collects everything from The Lion King. At Southglen Ashlee keeps everyone laughing and always gives the up-most care to your pet!


Barb started at Southglen in September 2014. She has been working in the veterinary profession since graduating as a Registered Animal Health Technologist in 1993 and still loves her job. Barb is experienced in dentistry and is one of our fastest cone makers! She has four kids at home and one fur-kid named Leo. Leo is a 134-pound Great Dane who loves to sit on the couch! Barb loves to spend her spare time working in her garden and taking her kids to their activities!


Shannon has been part of the Southglen team since February 2016. She graduated from the Red River Animal Health Technology program with honors in 2001. Shannon has a variety of experience working with not only companion animals, but also large, small and exotic animals over the course of her career. Shannon loves all animals big and small, and always treats her patients like one of her own. At home, Shannon has two dogs, Raven who is a 12-year-old Black Lab Cross, and Jersey, and 8-year-old Husky Cross. She also has a daughter named Rylee that hopes to follow in her Mom’s footsteps working with animals and plans to become a zoo keeper when she grows up. When Shannon is not working, she can be found shuttling Rylee to her various activities, on the volleyball court, baseball diamond, camping, or spending time at her family cottage.


Shey started her career as a veterinary assistant in 2011 until she graduated from the Animal Health Technology program in 2015. Shey joined our Southglen team in 2017 and has a special interest in small animal anesthesia, and emergency medicine. She shares her home with a 3 legged rescue dog named Missy, and 3 cats named Lexi, Alby and Thai.

Janelle S.

Janelle has been part of the Southglen team since September of 2015, originally working as a Veterinary Office Assistant. Janelle enjoys spending quality time with her friends and family at their cabin and soaking up the sun on the beach. Janelle graduated from Red River College as a Registered Veterinary Technologist in June of 2018.


Stephanie started out at Southglen as a volunteer in 2010. She began working as a veterinary assistant shortly after, and then completed the Animal Health Technology Program in 2013. She has a husky named Cassie that was found as a stray and brought to our hospital. Stephanie also has two cats named after Harry Potter characters- Neville & Tonks. Stephanie enjoys phlebotomy and ensuring that all of our patients are comfortable and well taken care of.

Tonya joined the Southglen team in 2018. She began working as an Veterinary Technologist in 2015 after graduating from Red River College. Tonya has two cats, Castiel and Loki as well as a dog named Willow. When not at work, Tonya enjoys hiking, camping and painting.

Veterinary Assistants & Veterinary Office Assistants

Janelle L.

Janelle joined the Southglen team in May 2015 as a veterinary office assistant. She makes everyone feel comfortable while at the vet, including any nervous fur-babies! At home she has three of her own, Anabell a Yorkshire Terrier, Nash a 110lb Rottweiler, and a three legged Border Collie mix from CAARE Rescue named Bullet. Janelle enjoys playing tennis and taking her dogs to the park. Janelle has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Manitoba.

Kim I.

Kim has been working as a veterinary assistant at Southglen since January 2014. In 2013, she graduated from the Robertson College with honors in the Veterinary Office Assistant Program. Kim is our Inventory Manager here at Southglen. Kim has two Sphynx cats at home, Sookie and Hades. She spends her time working, playing video games, or reading. 


Juliette started at Southglen in September 2017 as a veterinary office assistant. She will be attending the Animal Health Technology Program at Red River College in the near future. Juliette loves working with animals and is always excited to meet new patients. In her spare time she enjoys spending time outdoors, camping and playing sports. She has a dog named Scamp from the Winnipeg Humane Society and two cats- Harley and Simba. Juliette has had all sorts of pets, and looks forward to working with them more in the future.


Krissy started working at Southglen in 2015, starting as a part-time veterinary office assistant, and now works full-time as a veterinary assistant. Krissy graduated from the Veterinary Office Assistant program at St. James-Assiniboia in 2012. She really enjoys taking care of our patients and makes sure they are comfy and happy at all times. In her spare time she enjoys spending time outdoors, camping, cosplay and working out.


Breanna started working at Southglen in November of 2017 as a vet assistant. She is currently studying animal science and agriculture at the University of Manitoba, and is planning on attending school to become a veterinarian. Breanna makes sure all of our in hospital patients have everything they need from warm cozy blankets to food and water. She has five horses and a very energetic cattle dog/shephard cross named Charlie. Breanna enjoys playing sports and spending time outdoors with her friends and family.

Tanesa started at Southglen in September of 2018 as a veterinary office assistant. She is currently in her second year of the Veterinary Technologist course at Red River College. Tanesa loves working with animals everyday, and is very eager to jump ingot her career as a technologist here at Southglen. She has a rescue corgi cross named Toby, and four rescue cats at home. In her spare time she enjoys camping and going to the cabin with her family and Toby, competing on horses and just spending time outside relaxing.

Billa has been here at Southglen since he was found as a stray kitten about 10 years ago. He enjoys sun bathing by the window, begging for treats, and sleeping for long periods of time.
