Laser therapy is one of the modern treatments adopted by veterinary medicine. This procedure is a form of alternative treatment to surgery and can be used along with or in place of medications to manage pain. Our team uses advanced technology to perform laser therapy on our patients.

How does laser therapy work in my pet?

Laser therapy in pets bears much similarity to that in humans. Lights are directed at specific parts of your pet’s body at different wavelengths. The light is absorbed by the cells which stimulates repair and growth. Laser beams at lower wavelengths are absorbed by the skin while higher beams penetrate muscles and bones. Each session may last from 15-30 minutes. Your veterinarian will determine how many sessions your pet will need.

What health conditions can laser therapy treat in my pet?

Laser therapy is beneficial to treating pets limited to medical treatment options. For instance, older pets with poor organ function and pets with liver disease who cannot take medications. Here’s a list of conditions that our hospital uses laser therapy to treat:

Is laser therapy painful for my pet?
