Routine veterinary exams are an opportunity to address changes in your dog or cat’s health.
Veterinary exams are necessary to keep your pet’s health in check. To maintain the well-being of your pet, we encourage frequent veterinary exams. During the veterinary exam, pet parents learn about pet development and how best to care for their pet.
During a veterinary exam routine blood work is carried out to ensure that blood levels are normal. We also do a physical exam to locate any bumps/lumps and make note of the changes on the external body. The veterinarian may also conduct urine and imaging tests to identify possible health conditions. If our team notices any abnormalities, we recommend treatments and create lifestyle plans for your pet. If your pet has pre-existing health issues, we may recommend additional medications, therapy or other forms of rehabilitation.
Regardless of age, breed or size your pet should have at least one annual veterinary exam. Taking your pet to the vet yearly is necessary because they grow at a faster pace. Annual exams allow early detection of health issues and prevent diseases. Senior pets should have two veterinary exams each year and puppies and kittens should have three.
